A special bag for Columbus, Ohio

This past weekend I attended the Stampin' Up! Regional Event in Columbus, Ohio with Patty, Elaine and Debbie.  I hope they had as much fun as I did.  Swapping is a magical part of any stamping event and Friday my aunt and I made this cute bag to collect our swaps.  (Swapping is like Trick-Or-Treat without the chocolate!)  This bag was a plain canvas, three-pack.  Three 4" ruffles are sewn onto the bag.  I'm not a sew-er, but let me know if you have any questions.  We turned the edges because I was working with a professional who would cringe at the thought of frayed edges and non-ironed fabric.  :)
Wouldn't this be cute with a Big Shot initial and a flower in the bottom corner?

Here's a link to a no-sew bag if you're interested in making your own with less steps (bonus points if you manage to not glue yourself to the bag): http://scatteredthoughtsofasahm.blogspot.com/2012/02/no-sew-ruffle-tote-with-tutorial-and_22.html

ETA: Thanks to Pinterest I found another tutorial.  It's not exactly how we made the above bag, but this one involves sewing as opposed to the glue link above: http://www.u-createcrafts.com/2011/10/creative-guest-ruffled-tote-tutorial-by.html

I'll be back this week with other great projects from Regionals.  It's not too late to join my team and take advantage of Sale-A-Bration perks!

Sweet Deets:
Canvas Bag (generic bag)
Candy Lane Designer Fabric (SU! exclusive)

Hi Sherri! Just found your blog address on the back of your swap and subscribed via email. I am one of the ladies that told you we knew Eddleblutes in our area. Didn't notice your wonderful tote bag that day. Thanks for the info for making one.
