Oh Baby! Spoiler Alert

I have a workshop tonight and the hostess requested a baby card with the Nursery Letters. I selected gender neutral Sahara Sand and So Saffron. I used some color-on-color and a handmade banner to finish off this quick card.

Oh Baby

I had a ton of scraps sitting on my desk and realized I totally loved this color combination, and decided it was perfectly worthy of a baby boy card. Plus, I need to get some milage out of my newly puchased wheel! Need help with your bows, click here. On this card, I used Martha's Favorite Bow. For whatever reason (I'm guessing I mess up my right-hand and left-hand when I follow instructions), I have to tie the bow upside down so it works and lays correctly on my project! There's nothing else complicated with this card. :)

Oh Baby

This sweet card is a bit more loud than my usual style. And there’s a debate in my house if sailboats are appropriate for baby girls, but I think so! This card goes together quickly thanks to several punches.

I started with the Cottage Wall DSP. The coordinating colors for the DSP are located in the catalog. When I get a new pack of DSP, I place a sticky note on the inside of the DSP with the colors of the pack, so I don’t have to continuously look them up.

I quickly cut out the elephant and the sailboat and punched the star. All three are raised on dimensionals and rest on a 1-1/4” white square that has been sponged with Rich Razzleberry and then layered on a 1-3/8” Old Olive square. I used Teeny Tiny Wishes (I feel I have already gotten my money’s worth out of this versatile greeting set!), cut out with the large oval punch, layer on an Orchid Opulence curly label. Two more stars and an Old Olive playground designer button, threaded with a scrap of Rich Razzleberry paper finishes off this easy card.

Hi friends. Happy Tuesday. Have you missed me? I've missed you.

I fell in love with this card by Jan Tink. I've been eyeing it for a long, long time. I actually had to purchase the Nursery Letters jumbo wheel to make this card. I used the cottage wall DSP as inspiration. I actually started with a piece of the DSP, deemed it too busy, and ripped it back down to be more similar to Jan's card. The card was quite simple with the use of punches. Detail is added by a bit of paper piercing.

Are you loving the Oh Baby series??

As I flip through the new catalog a majority of the samples show distressed images, panels with color spatter from the color spritzer tool, and twill tape. I used all three elements on todays card.

This baby boy card started with Brillant Blue cardstock, stamped with Sanded background in Chocolate Chip. The So Saffron horizontal piece was sponged and color spritzed with Chocolate Chip. Chocolate Chip direct-to-paper was ran along the Chocolate Chip horizontal piece. The alphabet star was stamped in Crushed Curry on So Saffron. The sailboat was stamped on very vanilla and cut out with a 1-3/4” circle punch.

The two sails were stamped again on scrap paper and cut out, raised on dimensionals. I also decided I wanted brigter sails, so when I stamped on scrap paper, I used Crushed Curry.

Rock-a-bye baby was stamped on the twill tape. A Chocolate Chip button from Button Latte was threaded and tied with Linen Thread. I purposely started the twill to start fraying.

Here’s a quick clean card today. I used the small star on Kraft to create a uniform background. I emphasized the focal panel by adding a wide Soft Suede border. The elephants are lined up perfectly using the Stamp-A-Ma-Jig. I created a banner and used Sahara Sand direct-to-paper.

Another clean and simple baby card. I started with a whisper white panel and stamped the sailboats in So Saffron. I added the stars in So Saffron that had been stamped off once – for a lighter color. I stamped the alphabet star in Crushed Curry and cut it out with the large star punch. The Movers and Shapers star is slightly larger than the punch and creates a great layer in soft suede. Both stars are raised up on dimensionals. Interest is added on the squares by varying the border sizes. The soft suede square is also popped up on dimensionals. I think it’s a great unisex card by leaving the card yellow and brown.

Good morning! Did you wonder what I had planned for the chipboard letters posted here? I purchased plain balsa wood blocks for cheap cheap and created these little blocks. Wouldn't this be cute at a baby shower - on the refreshments table or table centerpiece? Maybe the mom-to-be would keep them and place the blocks on a shelf in the nursery? Here's a great card too!
