New Ink Pads

Sorry for the quick absence.  I am getting caught up and have so many new wonderful things to share with you.  I also need to clean my house and get a nap and help friends move and see The Rolling Thunder.  (It's a great three-day weekend I have planned).

Raining Flowers

We.  Finally.  Made.  It.  To.  Friday!  Whew.  At least I've been working on my tan this week.  Here's a quick little card - how nifty is the framelit?  And see it's for my momma; just a little late on posting it!  What's sweet about this set is the quickness that you can snip out flowers.  

I'm off to visit with some teammates Saturday morning!  I have to finish up some swaps and contest cards this evening!  Yikes.  Busy, busy.  Have a great weekend!

Happy Wednesday!  I'll keep this short today, but I thought you might want to see something else NEW - I sneak peek'ed a stamp set here.  Priority customers will begin receiving their catalogs next week (shipping begins tomorrow!).  If you don't have a current Stampin' Up! There's new colors, DSP and stamps in this card.  The dark blue is Midnight Muse.  The yellow-ish color in the front panel is Summer Starfruit.  These are 2 of the 5 2012-2014 In-colors.  The other stamped colors are Pool Party and Cajun Craze.  The bird and trio flowers are included in the new stamp set - Betsy's Blossoms.  Here's the inside.  The DSP is also new - Comfort Cafe.

A Shoebox Swap

A couple weeks ago, I traveled to Cecil County, MD to participate in a shoebox swap.  A shoebox swap is where the participant (me) designs a card, brings instructions, ink, tools, and cardstock precut for others to recreate my card.  As you can imagine there's a lot to carry - so you put it all in a shoebox.  Then at the swap, we pass around the shoeboxes and make one of each card.  This particular group was very positive, fun and inspiring!  I can't wait to see if they'll invite me next time.  We had a lovely Cinco de Mayo lunch!

A Halloween Friday

A simple farewell to Poppy Parade

Another farewell color today - Poppy Parade.  I really really really am sorry to give this color up.  I'll be back with some more color combos for poppy - one that was inspired by an awesome gift bag.

Ok, back to today's project.  Sometimes you just see a stunning card that's simple and lovely.  Here is the original inspiration and I am smitten with this card.  In fact, I had to borrow this stamp set to make my card!

I usually don't do "simple" but I think this works.  It makes me calm and happy.  These flowers are fun and easy to cut out!

Farewell Poppy!

I hope you've stocked up on Poppy Parade!  I looooooove that color.  Here's a quick simple card that you could easily recreate!   (sorry you see my neighborhood in the background).  

To make the texture stand-out a little more - I gently rub a sponge with crumb cake ink over the raised surface.  It gives it a little pop - don't ya think?

Farewell Blushing Bride and Poppy Parade

I had a great weekend....here's a little something designed by Maria Pane.  She's a fellow demonstrator and participated in our shoebox swap.  There are TWO retiring colors: poppy parade and blushing bride.  It was nifty - we stamped in poppy on whisper white card stock and then took an aqua painter and smeared the ink enough that it got this pink hue - almost like blushing bride.  It was awesome!  

Notice anything else about this card?  Can anyone name that stamp set?

Happy Baby!

I hope you had a great Cinco De Mayo.  Phew, I'm exhausted - so today is just a baby update.  Remember the card posted here featuring the soon-to-retire Fox & Friends?

Here's almost the same card - but it's got the fancy side label.  It was photographed on a different day, in a different location, with a different camera :)  Sorry about that.  This one - with the fancy side label - uses the ROUND LABEL Punch.  This great punch is on the RETIRED list.  If it was my choice, I'd never retire a punch.  Honestly - they're wonderful.

Farewell Blushing Bride

I'm not a "pink" girl but this was a great color - and super difficult to photograph.  So you'll have to trust me when I say this is a great color.  (Anyone notice the new pink blog header??!?!) Blushing Bride is one of FIVE retiring 2010-2012 In-Colors.  May 31st is the last day - and accessories are only while supplies last!  Yikes.

This monochromatic look could be reworked with about any color or stamp in your stash!  Go be crafty today.

May is officially Scrapbooking Month, so I'll be popping in all month with scrapbook pages that I hope inspire you.  This uses the Nautical Expedition DSP that has been on the CLEARANCE RACK.  It's a great value and wonderful paper.  To get the weathered look, I sanded the red left panel.  The color sits on top of the paper so it sands off nicely.  The middle panel was wrinkled with care - by simply crumpling it in a ball - several times.
