Welcome Baby and NEW class announcement!

My sweet friends welcomed their first child Saturday evening.  In their honor, here's a cute owl card.
The front panel is quite simple, a Woodgrain background stamp and a wide oval is punched out for the owl to peek though.
The owl is actually on the inside of the card (as seen below).

Sweet Deets (all supplies Stampin' Up!):
Stamps: Teeny Tiny Wishes
Ink: Early Espresso
CS: Baja Breeze, Soft Suede, Very Vanilla, Owl: Old Olive, Whisper White, Basic Black, Soft Suede, Baja Breeze and DSP
Accessories: Small oval punch, Large oval punch, Wide oval punch, Owl punch, Bird Punch (branch)

Look for an OWL PUNCH CLASS coming in January.  You'll decorate several owls and assemble an OWLbum for your samples.  Cost is $25 and includes an Owl Punch ($16.95 value), tombow adhesive ($3.95 value) and chipboard book and ring.

You must RSVP by December 13th, 2011 so I can have the punch for class.

Class Dates:  (Please indicate which class you'll attend with your RSVP)

Saturday 1/7/2012 at 3pm
Friday 1/13/2012 at 8pm

Just Add Snow!

One of the four projects we'll complete in class on Saturday uses my favorite stamp set:  Holiday Lineup.
I saw several versions of this card and instantly wanted to recreate it.  Bleach on Crumb Cake cardstock yields AWESOME results!!!

We used the blender pens to color the hats and scarves and accessories.  Make sure you color your images FIRST.

I have a separate aqua painter dedicated to bleach and clearly LABELED.  Fill the reservoir with pure bleach and paint away.  Once it dries, the cardstock is bleached.  Different cardstock reacts differently, each color and brand yields different results.  Play around (it's so much better than bleaching your laundry!).

Getting these out of order will ruin your marker and/or blender pens.  Please send me any questions you may have.

There is a seat still open for class on Saturday, please drop me an email if you're interested.  The class is held in Odenton, MD and starts promptly at 2:30pm.  I'd love to see you.

Sweet Deets (all supplies Stampin' Up!):
Stamps: Holiday Lineup, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Ink: Chocolate Chip (Craft ink), Night of Navy, Bashful Blue
CS: Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla
Accessories: Embossing Powder, heat tool, snowflake punch, big shot, top note die, aqua painter, bleach, blender pen

Thankful

It's Tuesday, the week of Thanksgiving and I'm remembering all the things I am Thankful for.

This is a great double layout.  Sorry I can't figure out how to photograph them better.  Some of the DSP is retired, but remember you can use anything you have - this page is scrappy!  The page is also "whimsy" for my style, just like falling leaves. The colors are rich and vibrant.

I enhanced the page with several little techniques.  All the leaves are cut with the Leaves #2 and the Big Shot.  There are leaves on the left made of out of golf waffle paper.  It's a fun, thin material that you can crinkle.  Because Leaves #2 is a Bigz die, it can cut several layers of cardstock at one time.  See the connected leaves on the bottom left, those paper-doll style leaves were made with the big shot.  There's also a leaf made of cork.  The Bigz dies cut a variety of materials.  A scrappy piece of Chantilly Trim creates a horizontal line that will guide your eye to the picture (not shown).  If you look closely, there's a subtle piece of Old Olive peeking out top of the Chantilly Trim.   I added some trinkets and twill scraps too.

The second page used some scrappy pieces of Top Note die and the negative from the Top Note die, and more leaves.  These leaves on the right were sprayed liberally with the smooch spritz.  Word of caution, watch the overspray from these tiny bottles.   Also, don't shake the bottle - that will introduce air, instead roll it between your hands to mix the solution.

The medallion is stamped by taking sponge daubers, with different color and daubing the ink onto the rubber, and then stamped on paper.  No two medallions will be the same! A sweet glimmer brad is in the middle.
If you have some wonderful thanksgiving pictures from before or ones that you take this week, I'd love to scrap them with you.  We can recreate a similar page.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Online Extravaganza and More!

Hiya!  There is a new project at the end of this post...be sure to check it out!

The sale starts today!  There are some AWESOME discounted products, INCLUDING THE NEW SIMPLY SCORED TOOL.  Think about creating your tags, cards and gifts or wrap up some product for your favorite crafter.  I'd love to help you create gifts.  Contact me to schedule a session in the next three weeks.  These discounted items can only be ordered through my website.  Please contact me if you have any questions or need assistance.
Onto today's project.  It's a quick broach.  It looks so much better in person.  Stop by at Gaithersburg FBC on Dec 3rd to see it!  It's amazing!  The sticky page keeps all the glitter on the pin and not on your shirt or jacket. Sticky pages are double sided stickiness, made to adhere to your favorite card stock or DSP and be ran through the Big Shot.  Once you're thru the machine, remove the top "red" piece - exposing the stickiness.

Here's a side view to show you the layers and dimension.

HAVE A GREAT WEEK!

Open Sea

One of the most popular summer sets is back, as a write in.  You'll not see this darling set in any of the current catalogs, but it can be ordered. I think I've used each image, but I've attached the images below the card.  This is a great masculine color combo.  I think adding the bakers twine didn't make it too girly.  Right?

Have a great weekend!

Sweet Deets (all supplies Stampin' Up!):
Stamps: Open Sea
Ink: Early Espresso, More Mustard, Not Quite Navy
CS: Early Espresso, More Mustard, Not Quite Navy, Whisper White

Another card today.  This card isn't flashy and intricate; it's the message and encouragement you write inside the card that is important.  I'm sure you've learned I love the Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder.  It's the best.   I've toned down the Rich Razzleberry with Early Espresso and Crumb Cake.  You can find Ribbon of Hope and other A La Carte individual stamps on page 19&20 of the IBC.

I hope you have a great Friday.

Happy Birthday!

This is a super sweet, super quick birthday card.  The use of punches made this card much easier than it appears.  Anytime you want a banner, use your square punch to cut the notch.  It's much crisper than free hand cutting it.

Thanks for stopping by!  A handmade card is wonderful surprise in the mail!!

Ink: Melon Mambo, Pink Pirouette, Soft Suede

Santa Baby...

The top seller at Odenton VFC were these adorable Santa suits.  It's a wrap for a full size candy bar.  I found these on Pinterest and knew I needed to recreate these!  I had to play with the dimensions to get them right, but you can create 2 from a sheet of 8-1/2"x11 or 4 wrappers from a sheet 12"x12".  I used textured cardstock and the glimmer paper is right amount of bling on the belt.

The candy bar slides in!  These would make great teacher gifts or stocking stuffers.

I've added another show:  Gaithersburg, MD on December 3rd.  I'll post more details the week of the show!

Thanks for stopping by,
SHERRI

Sweet Deets (all supplies Stampin' Up!):
