Just a Quick Announcement!

Happy Wednesday!
I have a quick promotion.  Something new here at Sweetest Designs - for all you near and far.  I will send the pieces, photos and instruction (where needed) for this class kit when you order the stamp set!  I will try to feature at least one of these a month.  Please let me order the set so you don't incur the minimum $6.95 shipping fee.  November kit features GENTLY FALLING.  It's a wonderful two-step stamp set.

Here's a sneak peek of what you'll see in the kit.  I will take orders until Sunday November 4th at 11:59PM ET.  Due to the hurricane and HUGE sale earlier this week, I am late posting this offer.  Orders will ship to you or be available for local pickup Friday, November 9th.  This gives you two weeks to complete your projects in time for distribution to your family and friends.

I'll ask you to pay shipping if you select shipping in lieu of local pickup.  Otherwise, class is FREE with the stamp set purchase.

Sunshine!

Hi friends.  Happy Tuesday.  Thank you so much for your orders yesterday!  Several of you will have something fun in your inbox this week!  We are still chillin' with Sandy - so I'll focus on something sunny today. The sun WILL come out - as soon as the rain stops.  We don't have power at my house, but the office is open with heat and lights.  Considering Sandy, our area did OK with the winds.  Now we wait for the river to rise to see the impacts at work.

This boot is "colored" by paper piecing.  This is a fun technique that I shared with my tablemates at retreat.

You may remember the other boot card we made here.  This is a fun set!

Sweet Deets (all supplies Stampin' Up!):
Stamps: Bootiful Occasions

Happy Frankenstorm.  I hope you all stay safe.

Christmas in October?!?

Can we talk about the holidays?  It's really coming quickly - two MONTHS!!  To continue our quest to use DSP, here's a cute layout.  Look how quick and easy this card is!  (Did you earn some of this luscious free ribbon last month?).

I sponged the apothecary label die after it was cut and ran thru the Big Shot with the lattice embossing folder.   Teeny Tiny Wishes is quite possibly one of the best investments I've made in my stamp collection.  I love the small font and variety of greetings in this set!

Thanks for stopping by,

Thank You!

I received some of the most awesome handmade (stamped!) birthday cards last week.  This is a giant THANK YOU for all those lovely cards you sent.  As a bonus, it was another challenge-to-create-DSP-cards.  (If you've missed the other cards this week, check out this, and this post!). I allowed the DSP to determine the color combination.  The tower is stamped in Basic Gray on another scrap of DSP and then fussy cut and popped up on dimensionals.

The Thank You font is from the Lacy and Lovely stamp set.
Have a great Friday and wonderful weekend!

Kick Up Yer Heels

I hope you're not getting tired of hearing about Retreat.  There was a boot card on the display board that inspired the table to re-create a boot card.  4 of us - looking at the same card and we are created similar, yet different cards.  I wish I would have taken photos of the cards together.  I found the DSP in the scrap bin, and used a blender pen to color the boot.  I was borrowing Janet's stamp set and she has separated the boot from the text (genius!).   Instead of 5 stamps, she has 9!  There's one tiny rhinestone on the top star of the boot!

I hope you kick up yer heels today!!

Sweet Deets (all supplies Stampin' Up!):
Stamps: Bootiful Occasions, Pennant Parade
DSP:  Brights Pattern DSP
Ink: Early Espresso
CS: Crumb Cake, Early Espresso, Very Vanilla
Accessories: Linen Thread, Pennant Punch, blender pen, hole punch, 1/2" circle punch, rhinestone

Coordinating Products (and a special announcement)!

Probably the biggest feature that hooked me to Stampin' Up! products was the coordinating products.  I love matching.  I love the ease of matching colors and inks and ribbon and here is a very simple card that's striking because the stamp on the top (in Daffodil Delight) border matches the pattern in the Lucky Limeade border on the bottom.  The color of the ink at top perfectly matches the snippet of ribbon (seam binding folded in half).

A little bling sets the centers of the flowers.  This is a wonderful workshop card that can be used for any occasion.  I'll add the sentiment on the inside when I need to use it.  This is a little summer-y, but we've been having wonderful weather yesterday and more expected today!  I hope to be outside, enjoying the Vitamin D and the warm sunshine.

Suites are identified to help you recognize the coordinating products.  The rest of October, you can earn a FREE paper piercing pack with the purchase of one to the two qualifying bundles below.

I hope you are crafty this week!

Hello!

Happy Boss's Day (or is it Bosses?  Or Boss'?)!  If you're a Boss or a Supervisor or The Ringleader, thanks!  If you're not; make sure you Thank your Boss today.  I made my Supervisor (also known as The Ringleader) cupcakes today.  I'd make him a card...but....that'd just be weird.  So I'll let the cupcake go to his hips and you get the card!

This was created at Retreat and it was the last card I made of the weekend.  Yesterdays card was the first card of the weekend.  Both are Sherri originals.
This color combination came out of nowhere:  Basic Black, Summer Starfruit, Primrose Petals and Raspberry Ripple.  I again utilized a full panel of DSP, softly stamping on top of the First Edition DSP.
The basic black panel is very small - contrasting with the large and wide Very Vanilla greeting panel.  I love that font in Summer Starfruit!  The Summer Starfruit border is three decorative label punches positioned back-to-back.

Thanks for stopping by!

Boooo!

Boy was I a worn-out little stamper.  My weekend at retreat was FAN-TASTIC; it was just what I needed!  I love my retreat girls.  We worked on using more DSP on our cards.  Here's a fun Halloween card that was inspired by the awesome DSP from the scraps bins.  At retreat Your Scraps Are My Scraps and they are plentiful.  :)  I enjoy Halloween, but I prefer cute and fun over monsters and guts.

The strip of Basic Black cardstock was torn.  The Tangerine Tango DSP panel was lightly sponged with Basic Black ink around the edges.  The textured embossing designer frame was embossed by the Big Shot in Basic Black and then the inside was easily cut with an exact-o knife - leaving a little frame.  The mummy was stamped in Staz-On on Very Vanilla.  The frame is mounted on dimensionals.  A scrap of Very Vanilla Seam Binding is wound around the corner - all mummy-like.
The greeting is also stamped in Basic Black, cut out with the Bitty Banners Framelits and sponged with Tangerine Tango ink.  Don't forget the googly eye on the mummy! There's a lot of dimensionals on this card!

Let me know what you think of our creation!  I think he's adorable - but I'm partial.
