MDS Enjoy the Moments

Remember earlier this summer I posted traditional scrapbook pages from TN? Here's a quick page from the same trip. I used the MDS pre-made layout and then added other elements. I love the black and yellow.

Leave me a comment, let me know if you're liking MDS!
Have a great Monday,

MDS Christmas Jingle

These pages are a breeze to put together with MDS. This was a pre-made layout in MDS. Last December we went to The Kennedy Center but stopped to see the Christmas trees on the way! It was a great evening! Click on the photo to make it bigger!

Holiday Lineup

Hiya. Happy weekend! Can we talk about Christmas? It's just around the corner, less than 3 months away!! It's time to kick the holiday blog posts in high gear!

I stamped the image a couple of times, colored the elves and punched them out - trying to get a different combination of elves in each square.

Sweet Deets (all supplies Stampin' Up!):
Stamps: Holiday Lineup, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Ink: Staz-On, Real Red
CS: Basic Black, Old Olive, Whisper White

My First Hybrid Card

No, not part gas, part electric - even better.
I used My Digital Studio (comes out 10/1; have you reserved your copy??) to print the image from All in the Family for my card. It was easy to line up, rotate and stretch (see the mom and dad are holding hands?) in MDS. Plus, I don't own this stamp set! I printed it out on whisper white cardstock and then made a "traditional" card by coloring the images with markers. Be cautious that your printer doesn't smear or run when coloring - that would be a bummer. This layout is not my usual - what do you think?? And what do you think of hybrid cards??

I used the Tall Tales DSP and color pallet. I didn't have room for my greeting; it was too cluttered. The inside reads "From the all of us, Happy Birthday."

Sweet Deets (all supplies Stampin' Up!):
Stamps: None - All in the Family image from MDS
Ink: None
CS: Old Olive, So Saffron, Whisper White
Accessories: Double Rectangle Punch, 5/8" Chocolate Chip Grosgrain, dimensionals

This set is super fun! I love adding the different leaves. I thought I'd better post this quickly before all the green leaves are gone! I distressed the edges, I like the look it adds. Really Retro is on the Dormant list, #113754. It's a great set of phrases. Check out the entire set below!

Thanks for stopping by!

Do you know what the current HOT HOT HOT stamp set is? It's the second best seller. Dasher. You can find this little guy in the back of the catalog in the UNDER $10 section (you've been to that section, right?). Yes, this guy is $8.95. Bonus, have you seen the Four the Holidays set? It's a set of 4 greetings priced at $13.95. Trendy. Economical. What else could you ask for???

And to make things a little interesting - anyone want to guess what the #1 seller is?!?!? Just take a guess. Go get your catalog and start guessing. Leave your answers posted as a comment here! :) Answer coming up............

The Big Shot

Hi friends. Are you finding these videos to be helpful? I've received some questions about the Big Shot, so I've attached a video that may provide you with some more information. It's easy to use, and if you follow my blog, you'll note that most projects use the Big Shot one way or another.

Contact me today about hosting a workshop and ask me to bring the Big Shot! You can click on the Big Shot label to see all my projects using the Big Shot.

Happy Wednesday.

Bermuda Daisy

I had to squeeze this summery card in quickly. It's fall here in VA. Which I love wearing hoodies, watching football, eating apple crisp. Dang. I need a piece. Now.

Let's look at today's card. I stamped the image in Basic Black. Not a typical choice, I know, but I think it looks good on the Bermuda Bay. Again, a strip of DSP at the bottom balances the card. The black strip in the middle is black cardstock. I used my mat pack guide and white gel pen to make the white circles.

Sweet Deets (all supplies Stampin' Up!):
Stamps: Upsy Daisy
DSP: Thoroughly Modern
Ink: Basic Black
CS: Basic Black, Bermuda Bay, Whisper White (on the inside)
Accessories: White gel pen, mat pack

My Digital Studio Pre-Order Special!!

I've received many questions regarding My Digital Studio.
It is digital scrapping. You receive a disk and the software to load onto your computer. Specify MAC or PC when you purchase. MDS is compatible with BOTH operating systems. :)

It contains many of the favorites from your present Stampin' Up! catalog and even some things from the past!
The software comes with:
61 Stamp Sets
6 Simply Scrappin' Kits
12 Punches
12 Designer Paper Patterns (in all our colors)
Embellishments that include buttons, brads, ribbon, hodgepodge PLUS Staples and Stitching.

Additional items will be available for purchase and download/install on an a la carte basis. I've seen stamp sets ranging from $1.95 to $3.95 to add.

As with everything, you can change the color, the size, the rotation of all the elements. There are several TEMPLATES to get your started. The template will have the elements and require you to add journaling or photo or elements. It's a starting point, but you can change anything at any time. One click of the mouse and you can move and move and move again!

No template works for you and your photos? There's an option to start with a blank canvas, like I've been doing with the recipe cards.

You can print on your own printer, print at another printer, or use the Stampin' Up! professional printer. The last option will ensure the colors are 100% true to the Stampin' Up! colors. The scrapbook pages will be professionally bound. Awesome.

How about a My Digital Studio Special????
The first 10 to reserve their copy with me will receive a $10 embellishment pack to accessorize their digital creations. Email me to reserve a copy and I will send you a paypal invoice on September 29th and place your order October 1 when it becomes available to customers. In the meantime, I'll be sure to keep posting samples here!

Still on the fence? Book a party or a workshop and I'll demonstrate the quick and easy projects with MDS.

Punches 101

A quick lil' video today on using your punches.
I revisit the way to align the scallop border edge punch.
We punch out a star.
And I quickly cover using the negative from punches in your catalog to determine what punches coordinate with particular punches.
I promise the videos will get better. Leave me some feedback!

Stop over to get the recipe for Buckeye Bars.

Happy Friday Friends!

Hi everyone. Today's post is a little later than usual :) I made two of these cards last evening and I was waiting until they were delivered today. These were care packages for back to school week.
I dreamt up this color combination while sitting in the second hour of a meeting on Thursday. Soft Suede, Barely Banana and Bermuda Bay. I decided I LOVE it. I used a retired Friend definition background stamp but I really wanted a distressed look so I made sure not to press evenly. I also used linen thread because I love love love that stuff. I would use it on every project if you'd let me! If you ever want to layer your punches, punch the smaller image first, then you can see where to place the second larger punch.

Remember I said above I wanted distressed? After I stamped the letters, I distressed the edges and then crumpled up the letters and even when I adhered it, I made sure to leave it raised.
Sweet Deets (all supplies Stampin' Up!):
Stamps: Varisty Letters
Ink: Bermuda Bay, Soft Suede
CS: Barley Banana, Bermuda Bay, Soft Suede
Accessories: Linen Thread, Dimensionals, Star Punch, Large Star Punch

A Monochromatic Friend

Happy Tuesday friends. I love 4-day weeks! I hope this post finds you all well rested from an amazing weekend. Our weekend was very productive - I got a lot of boring things completed like cleaning the baseboards (I'm very glamorous!). Thanks for all your prompt questions and interest in the sets and paper. I meant to get them all photographed today, but I was busy and then it was too dark to get good photos. Does that happen to you? I need some more hours in the day!!

This card I made at the Remarkable retreat, I just didn't get it photographed. Are you seeing a trend?

You should check out http://www.sweetestkitchendesigns.blogspot.com/ too. I've been cooking and photographing for the site, I just haven't found time to import the pics and write the recipe! I digress, wow, I meant to tell you that I'll be using My Digital Studio to make recipe cards over there to accompany the photos. It's a cross between this site and the kitchen site.

Ok, let's get on the real reason you're here: the CARD! A good selection of DSP can make a card go quickly.

Sneak Peek: My Digital Studio

Good Sunday morning! Are you enjoying a relaxing 3-day weekend? Friday My Digital Studio arrived on my doorstep (whoooo hoooo).

Here's a quick page I put together yesterday afternoon. This was created on my own, not using a template. These can be printed on your home printer, at a printing service, or using the SU! printer. The last option will ensure the colors are true Stampin' Up! colors.

Let me know what you think?

It Feels Like Fall

First, I must shout out to all my Buffett people, holy cow did we rock the show last night! We partied at Nissan all afternoon and enjoyed JIMMY! Here in DC, we're experiencing fall-like weather. It's crazy, but I LOVE IT. Pair this card with some apple crisp and an afternoon football game (ahem, who's loving there's football tomorrow!?!??!) Ok, let's get onto the card. Again, I'm using DSP. Lots of DSP. Ok, 4 rectangles to be exact. The tree and the leaves are separate in this set, so you can decorate your tree as much, or as little as you'd like.
This card is 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" so it will fit in standard envelope. Instead of cutting your 8 1/2" x 11" cardstock at 5 1/2" (along the 11 side) to make the card base, I cut it at 4 1/4" on the 8 1/2" side. You're still left with 2 card bases from one sheet of cardstock, it just changes things up a bit. The taller card fit the tree better. What do you think? Do you vary your size of your cards?

Sweet Deets (all supplies Stampin' Up!):
Stamps: Season of Friendship
DSP: Autumn Traditions
Ink: More Mustard, Really Rust, Ruby Red, Soft Suede
CS: More Mustard, Soft Suede

CHRISTMAS COCOA SPECIALITY DSP

Holy flock. Seriously. The new DSP has two sheets of this fantastic red and white flocked design. It's raised and fuzzy and I wasn't quite sure about it until I touched it. I am a tactile person and this paper is neat. The paper is quite busy, so we added Merry Christmas punched out with the ornament movers and shapers Big Shot Die. It's been embossed with clear embossing powder. We made this card at the remarkable retreat. I layered the ornament on black to give it some more pop. The black is the same size, but I cut two more and offset it to the top and the bottom, for the matting. Simple, simple, simple.

Sweet Deets (all supplies Stampin' Up!):
Stamps: All Holidays
Ink: White Craft
DSP: Christmas Cocoa Speciality DSP
Cardstock: Real Red, Basic Black
Accessories: Ornament Movers and Shapers BS die, Silver elastic cord, Dimensionals, Clear EP

Grateful Greetings

Ohh laa, I love the combination of Rust and Teal. Here's a card that showcases the new Autumn Meadows DSP. The greeting, also a new mini set: Grateful Greetings, is embossed using a chocolate chip craft pad and clear embossing powder. We made this card at the remarkable retreat. I've been busy on my lunch break and keep forgetting to photograph cards until late in the afternoon. Ahem, please excuse the shadows!

Sweet Deets (all supplies Stampin' Up!):
Stamps: Grateful Greetings
Ink: Chocolate Chip craft
DSP: Autumn Meadows
Cardstock: Really Rust, Taken with Teal
